The Mind Behind Letter and Lime Design

It’s a new month, it’s a new year, and it’s time for Letter and Lime Design to introduce its new tri-monthly blog! I have been wanting a space to engage with the Letter and Lime audience for such a long time, and 2022 is the year it has come to fruition.

In this new blog, you’ll find wedding stationary advice, an insight into the process, I’ll keep you up to date with the latest trends and I’ll use this platform as a creative space for expression, creativity and joy! I couldn’t be more excited to share it with you and I truly hope you enjoy it too.

To begin, I thought it may be time to reintroduce myself and give you a quick insight into the mind behind Letter and Lime Design. So for those of you that don’t know, I’m Amie!

ABOUT ME  (The factual, serious stuff).

I’m the owner of Letter and Lime Design. When I say the owner, I also mean I am the graphic designer, social media manager, admin assistant, financial advisor, secretary etc etc etc. To put it simply, I wear all the hats and I love it!

I am from County Tyrone in the North of Ireland. I absolutely love it here in Ireland but also have an insatiable zest for travel! After graduating as a designer from University of Ulster, I was given the incredible opportunity to study at the Bauhaus in Germany for a year. I have also had the opportunity to travel to 30 countries! (I know what you’re thinking, and you’re right. Travel bans over the past two years have been TOUGH for this travel addict.)

Growing up, I always wanted to be a photographer or a psychologist. I’m not sure if I ever even considered Graphic Design as a job back then. But now, I couldn’t be happier in my work. The opportunity to be creative, to work alongside so many wonderful people and help make their day extra special is just amazing and I couldn’t be more fulfilled.

I consider myself super organised, a bit of a neat freak and someone who LOVES a good list. These traits have faithfully stood by me throughout my career! After working for four years in a print company, I felt confident, experienced and ready to take the leap into my own creative venture. And so, Letter and Lime Design was born.

THE FUN STUFF (Still just as factual, but not just as serious).

Okay, let’s do a quick speed round.

-I don’t have a middle name. (Weird, right?)

-I am frightened of ALL animals. (Travelled the world and avoided animals at all costs. SUCCESS.)

-I love a good flat white. (Coffee is life.)

-I have been skydiving, walked on a volcano and a glacier! (Not all at once. I’m not THAT wild.)

-I cannot sing. (Not even a hum.)

-When I was little I had an imaginary blue dog. (What can I say, the creativity has always been there!)

 ABOUT THE BUSINESS

I guess we’ll start with the name!

THE ‘LETTER’ PART- I have always had a love for typography and the artistic expression that can be achieved with it. It just so happens that within my business, I work with fonts every single day. And so, ‘LETTER’ became a part of my business name.

THE ‘LIME’ PART- When I was travelling in Asia, they put the most gorgeous lime on top of the rice we would eat. I was quite frankly obsessed with it. And so, ‘LIME’ is added to the name of my creative venture.

THE ‘DESIGN’ PART- Well, that’s exactly what I do. Design wedding invitations for happy couples every single day! And there we have it. Letter and Lime Design.

Letter and Lime Design can create bespoke stationery for your special day, supply you with pre-designed invitations and save the dates and can also offer some beautiful graphic design gifts and prints on our etsy page.
